In the Book of Esther, Mordecai, Esther’s uncle asks her if she has been raised to her royal position “for a time such as this.” There are times when something or someone seems to stand out as uniquely meaningful for a particular time.
In the aftermath of the civil unrest that has shaken our country, the book, Love is the Way: Holding on to Hope in Troubling Times, by Episcopal Bishop Michael Curry, has that feel. Most non-Episcopalians probably remember Bishop Curry for the fact that he preached at the royal wedding of Meghan Markel and British Prince Harry. This book expands his message of redemptive love by looking at the ways in which love is the answer to the many issues that face society today.
Love is the Way will be the focus of a Lenten Bible study starting February 17 from noon to one and continuing through March 24. The study will be held on Zoom. Please call the church office to receive a Zoom link. On February 17, we will discuss Chapters 1 and 2. When you sign up, you will receive notes for the reading for the week.
