We hope to focus during 2026 as a church on the meaning, ways, and power of prayer. This focus on prayer will allow us to reflect on ways to strengthen our conversations with God for each other, for the world, and for ourselves.
When we pray, God in Christ, by the power and work of the holy spirit meets us in those sacred spaces in our heart and mind. Prayer is about opening ourselves to the love and grace of God so that we might grow closer to the one who loves us beyond measure and invites us into a life where we see the world differently and live in communion with the beloved. Prayer changes us.
This year, let us open our eyes, to see with the eyes of Christ.
This year, let us learn to love as we are loved.
This year, let us rise into the fullness of our humanity given to us by God for the well being of all creation.
This year, let us proclaim the good news of the gospel and pray without ceasing.
May the blessing of Emmanuel, God with us, be with and in you in this new year.
